COVID-19 National Emergency Ends Earlier While Public Emergency Remains in Effect
On April 10, 2023, President Biden signed into law H.J. Res. 7, which ended the National Emergency, effective immediately. The Public Emergency, though, remains in effect until May 11, 2023. The end of both declared Emergencies affects certain temporary COVID relief measures and coverage mandates that were put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic for employee benefit plans.
