Pandemic and Drug Overdoses Drive U.S. Life Expectancy Down 1.5 Years

A new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) revealed that life expectancy in the United States dropped from 78.8 years in 2019 to 77.3 years in 2020. The decline in life expectancy was the largest one-year drop since World War II.
